Pharmacy Museum
Launched in 2010, responsibility for the Pharmacy Museum belongs to the Portuguese Association of Pharmacies and allows the visitor to step back in time, in effect 500 million years back, to a time when man was battling to find a cure for illnesses and in search of pain relief. In this museum, one will see objects of rare historical, artistic, anthropological and scientific value, which came from distant civilisations and cultures, in both time and space, such as Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, Rome, the Incas, the Aztecs, Islam, Africa, Tibet, China and Japan. Worth highlighting is also the magnificent reconstruction of the Estácio Pharmacy in Porto, which once existed in Rua Sá da Bandeira, in the heart of the city of Porto.
