Museum of Natural History, University of Porto
The Natural History Museum of the University of Porto is located in the Rectory building and has four distinct sections: Zoology - with collections representing the diversity of molluscs, insects and birds from Portugal - Paleontology - with basic collections of Portuguese Stratigraphy and Paleontology and fossils of other origins - Mineralogy- with about 700 samples of minerals - and Anthropology and Prehistory - with a representative exposure of the course of human evolution. Currently, open for the publics are only the rooms of Mineralogy and Zoology. The visit is free for school groups but it's necessary to make an appointment.
