Freixo Bridge
The Freixo Bridge was built in the eastern part of the city to serve as an alternative to the Arrábida and D. Luis I bridges. It was inaugurated in September 1995. The bridge is by António Reis and Daniel de Sousa, and is in fact, a double bridge with their two decks separated by just 10 centimeters along the full length. The frame bridge has a total length of 705 meters, with a main span of 150 meters. It has 8 spans in total and is build with in pre-stressed reinforced concrete with additional use of new technologies. It carries the A20 by linking the Dragon Stadium area in Porto to the town of Oliveira do Douro in Vila Nova de Gaia.
