Houses of Rua da Reboleira
At number 55 on Rua da Reboleira, which is an artery located in the heart of the Ribeira do Porto, you will find an interesting example of architecture in a building from the late Middle Ages. It is one of the largest buildings in the area and contains elements from various periods and styles, particularly from Baroque and Gothic. At the basement level, pay attention to the medieval structures that are believed to date back to the fourteenth century. The façade of the building number 55 that faces the Rua da Reboleira still boasts, on the ground floor, of its Gothic portals. The upper floors and the crowning battlements were altered, probably in the seventeenth century. On the same street, but at number 59, it's worth stopping to also gaze at a large crenellated Gothic building that dates to the fourteenth century. This tower-house has endured almost intact to this day.
