Cobertos da Ribeira Wall
In bygone days, a section of the Fernandina Wall - built by King D. Fernando between 1368 and 1437, replaced the previous city wall - separating the Praça da Ribeira from the Douro River. There was a main gate that connected the river to the square where several shelters were built. Of these, nowadays, only one remains, on the eastern side, along the internal side of the wall.
