Riverside

On the north bank of the River Douro where you find Porto, feel the city in the narrow streets of Ribeira, visit the monuments of this historic centre and take a trip along the river up to the mouth of the Douro aboard the tram or rent a bicycle. You will go along the Arrábida Bridge, pass the Bird Observatory in Calém Garden and the Passeio Alegre Garden. On the south bank where Vila Nova de Gaia is situated, visit the Port wine cellars, the fishing village of Afurada - where in June they celebrate St. Peter of Afurada - and the Local Natural Reserve of the Douro Estuary, where the river meets the sea.
