31 de Janeiro Street
This road has already been called Rua de Santo António but it is now called Rua 31 de Janeiro because in this street, which is located in the center of Porto, where were fought the most important battles in the historic Republican Revolution in 1891. It is a commercial artery with some examples of Art Nouveau buildings and a lovely facade, the Machado Jeweler. This century-old family shop which is dedicated to selling jewelry and watches, and whose interior retains the original design, it displays two beautiful angels on the facade. It's hard not to see them, but it's always good to remind. Another picturesque detail is the 22 tram, which climbs the 31 de Janeiro making the connection between the area of the Carmo Church and the Batalha Square.
