Tram
With a history dating back to 1872, the year in which was inaugurated the city's first line of "American cars", and a fully restored fleet of cars that feature the 1920s and 1930s decades, the network of historic trams - Porto Tram City Tour - that is part of the Sociedade de Transportes Coletivos do Porto (STCP) [Collective Transport Company of Porto] is one of the wonders of Porto. There currently exist three lines that pass though the most emblematic areas of the Invicta: Tram no. 1 goes through the waterfront along the River Douro, between the historic centre and Passeio Alegre Garden; Tram no. 18 connects the Massarelos zone to Carmo, through the Garden of Cordage and its surroundings; and Tram no. 22 runs through the major arteries of downtown Porto on a circular route between Carmo and Batalha/Guindais.
