Downtown

Downtown Oporto has changed greatly in recent years. Trendy bars and restaurants - from the signature cuisine to tapas - have emerged one after another and the growing nightlife of this area, roughly understood as between the Republic Square (Praça da República), the Garden of São Lázaro, the Clerics´ Tower and the Crystal Palace, potentiate the appearance of other businesses. In downtown Oporto, it is now possible to find workshops of fashion designers, urban crafts, traditional arts, cellars and gourmet shops/markets, ice cream parlours and other businesses, in addition of course to urban markets and regular craft fairs. It is therefore the ideal place for dinner and feel the pulse of moved the city night, but also the place where you can shop in traditional businesses and more cosmopolitan shops. Downtown, there are several churches and monuments of interest, the emblematic buildings of São Bento Station and the Câmara do Porto, as well as the beautiful Lello bookshop, Bolhão Market and the centennial Café Majestic.
