Catholic University of Porto
The Portuguese Catholic University, which has its seat in Lisbon but maintains the regional centers in Porto, Braga and the Beiras, is the only non-state university that is part of the Council of Rectors of Portuguese Universities. It takes as its mission the production and sharing of critical, innovative and socially relevant knowledge. In Porto, integrates the schools of Arts, Law and Higher Biotechnology, the faculties of Economics and Management, Education and Psychology and Theology, and the institutes of Bioethics and Health Sciences, with about 6.000 students, 600 teachers and 200 employees. Its School of Arts is particularly known for its Sound and Image degree and promotes every year the International Festival Audiovisual Black & White, that is an open event to the city.
