Romantic Museum of Quinta da Macieirinha
Installed at Macieirinha Manor - or Sacramento Manor - in a country house of the late eighteenth century, which the Municipality of Porto acquired in 1972, the Romantic Museum recreates the atmosphere of a wealthy nineteenth century house. This museum space transports visitors back to the time of Romanticism, to the eighteenth century of Porto, an important period in the history of the city. Also perpetuates the memory of Carlos Alberto of Sabóia, King of Sardinia and Prince of Piedmont, who died sad, sick and exiled for his homeland precisely in this manor in July 28, 1849.
