Porto Military Museum
In the Military Museum of Porto, one will find several collections of light armour, equipment, uniforms and heavy armour, objects whose origin fall between the sixteenth and mid-twentieth centuries. Of particular interest is the collection of miniature soldiers, which feature the warrior's evolution from ancient times to the contemporary era. The building where the museum is housed is both a symbol of resistance and anti-fascist struggle, having served as headquarters to the PIDE, the political police force of the Portuguese New State, an authoritarian regime that was in force in Portugal between 1926 and 1974.
