Electric power in Portugal is 230/400 volts, at a frequency of 50 hertz and sockets comply with European standards. To use American type flat prong plugs - you must use a transformer to 230 volts, and also an adapter plug.

In Portugal, tap water is drinkable and does not, under normal circumstances, pose as a risk to human health when ingested.
